This was a little disappointing. I picked this up in my local bookstore, manga section of course, hoping I had just found the next cute yuri. BOY was I wrong. A collection of short stories that were yes, cute, but poorly translated with little to no character development at all. I sped through these in about 20 minutes and haven't picked it back up since. For 16$ this wasn't really worth it. Now this isn't to saw it wouldn't make a great online collection of shorts. If I had come across this online and read it for free, I might've been a lot happier with this mini-series. Moralof the story is, check the inside of a book (more-so manga) before you purchase, you could accidentally end up getting something you didn't ask for.
Follow the everyday romances of women living together! From clashing personalities to May-December relationships, it's a sweet cornucopia of love and affection. (Source: Yen Press)
It was a good read, predictable and calm, warmed my soul to just the right temperature. There are 10 stories (I believe), each about a different pair of characters. The stories however are not a continuous timeline of events. Every page depicts a separate situation of set couple and the next page skips ahead to an undefined time depicting a different scene of their life. So, do not expect it to go deep, because it does not. It is mostly just one page shorts filled with romance and mushy feelings of love. Even though there is nothing I disliked in this manga, because each plotin itself was only loosely linked, it lacked the gradation, character development, and depth, that was needed for a higher rating.
Itâs a cute short Yuri manga that made my day just a little better Because itâs a collection of 10 different short stories my enjoyment of each varied. I liked most of them my favorites being 1, 3 and 10. they where my favorite because they where the least complicated relationships and therefore didnât need a whole lot of development. Most of the stories lacked the development needed and fell a little short. Two of the stories also made me feel very uncomfortable because of the relationship dynamic. Over all Yuri Life (Yurigurashi) is sweet, cute and wholesome. But is way to short to offer whata lot of other Yuri offer. 6/10
Yurigurashi is a short yuri manga that contains a bunch of short but sweet love stories. My problem with this manga is that there isn't much of a story. Like I said, it's a bunch of short stories about completely different characters every chapter, sometimes revisiting previous characters. The art was pretty good, I actually really liked the style. There was hardly any character development besides that these 2 girls are dating, with an occasional side thing. Now to be fair, I'm not saying I didn't enjoy this manga. It has obvious flaws, but I still actually enjoyed it quite a bit, and it mademy day a little better. Overall it's a fun manga and I suggest you read it.
I gotta say, the 10 short stories were really cute at varying at what the main characters do occupation wise and what their personality trait were in each story. However it missed the mark of attempting to engage with the reader due to plot and character development not being taken seriously I did notice the art was rather meh and pacing felt off. Itâs disappointing that I wasnât able to enjoy it fully because I really really had high expectations for this type of manga! Then I wouldâve really considered it as part of my best Yuri manga collection. Itâs just such a shameman :/
