In a world where isekai is one of the most saturated genres of all time, there is always that one piece of art that astonishes the reader beyond belief and Dogeza de Tanondemita is one of them. The manga is really short, you can probably finish this in 15 to 20 minutes, but despite it being short it captivates the reader from the first chapter, i myself couldn't stop reading it and was always surprised to see what happened at the end of every chapter. At first i wondered how did the mangaka even have the idea to make a manga where the main character got girlsto do ecchi shit for him with the most op power one can have: bowing and from an outsiders perspective this looks your average ecchi manga, but like i said before once you start reading it.....you can't stop and you will keep wanting to know what is gonna happen in the next chapter. An anime adaptation has already started airing since yesterday as of this reviews date but i recommend everyone to read this first before watching the anime to experience it in its full degenerative glory.
Dogeza de Tanondemita revolves around a certain man who practices the art of "dogeza"—an action that involves kneeling deeply on the ground—to girls in exchange for seeing their breasts and lingerie. Whether it be in the real world or an alternate fantasy, the dogezas will not stop as long as he has another chance to glance at a girl's skin or underwear. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Okay this is my first review so bear with me! This review is spoiler free Dogeza or in English, kowtow is an element of traditional Japanese etiquette which involves kneeling directly on the ground and bowing to prostrate oneself while touching one's head to the floor, to ask for forgiveness. However in this anime the main character does it to beg for other girls to show their obvious body parts. This is a masterpiece. I am not kidding. It is completely worth your time. Why you may ask? The chapters are short and small. (5-9 pages per chapter)It will not waste your time in any manner. Amazing art, the author did extremely well. Once you start reading the first chapter you will be so hooked into it that you cannot stop reading it. It's like the author has put some sort of subliminal message to grab your attention. Each chapter builds up the "spicyness". Do NOT think that this is one of your generic harems with ecchi scenes. It does NOT have a plot, yes. But that is not enough to stop this from having plot twists. Each chapter will leave you wanting for more. Overall if I look at it from the enjoyment perspective it really deserves the chance to be in your reading list.
This will be similar to my preliminary anime review because of recency bias. Story - 3 The story is the premise and that's it. It's a great, fun premise so I'm not complaining. I've given it a low score because there isn't enough to call a story, and the events - at least initially - don't clearly occur in any particular order. After some chapters, something unexpected happens in the story - which is quite enjoyable. During it and afterward, the events do clearly happen in order. Art - 10 The art is great. It's one of the best parts. In particular, I like how for all chapters, it ismonochrome in the first pages, and then it's myrichrome (myriad) in the main page. The contrast really adds to the enjoyment. Enjoyment - 10 I've sung it enough praises in the art section, I can't muster up any more. Overall - 10 For a work in the short format, this is amazing.
