Even tho it's a one-shot, i like the manga's premise of hunting down bad guys with a katana and a cyborg arm, really cool. I see potential for the story, i hope the author decides to serialized this one-shot. The art is great, i like how the author draw the fight scenes, really fun to watch and the character designs are pretty cool, although the MC's design might be a little boring to me. This one-shot perfectly capture the sci-fi action tone, really cool. Overall, it's a good one-shot, i see potential in it. I'm a sucker for this kind of stories lol. 7/10
"Haruka Kanae. I'm a samurai." So a weird Japanese kid shows up in New York with a sword, hunting down the 206 American criminals called "Number Bones", which he tallies on his prosthetic arm. With me so far? Honestly, I love this plot. It's a blatant setup for a "gotta hunt 'em all" story that could unfold in the event of serialization, and I'm so salty there's no actual serialization to speak of. Give me more! The goofy protagonist! The hoard of criminals with limitless story potential! And a villain with a familial link to the hero? I'd eat it with a spoon. The art isn't incredible, butit's pretty nice. Polished, cool character designs, flashy action scenes, nothing to complain about. I feel like it's the kind of art that could really blossom and evolve across the course of a serialization, but I won't harp on that again... Honestly? The biggest shortcoming in this oneshot is Shindou's truly strange grasp of English. "Number Bones" is just the start; criminals use aliases like "Donor", "Calm", "Disaster", "Color Hunt", and worst of all "Dolch@BLACK". How do you say that? Do you pronounce the @? I'll just say it: Shindou needs an assistant who speaks some English. Consider this: Shindou Masaoki debuted at 17, and drew Count Over at approximately 19. Should I be embarrassed to be so PUMPED to see where his work goes in the future?
A mysterious mastermind single-handedly releases 206 of the most dangerous prisoners around the states. When the prisoners rampage New York City, the police helplessly watch as a young boy with a katana appears. His mechanical arm has a countdown from 206. What is his purpose? (Source: MU)
Though a One Shot, This less than 50-page manga left me wanting more, believing it could make itself a full shonen-action series. It has a charming and not to mention badass main character, and a simple but well designed villain. (which he gave me some tokyo ghoul vibes ngl), This manga had some great action panels and an interesting concept!! i gave it a 7 personally, but thats just because of how short this is. It has tons of potential and even if it just stays as this one shot, I do think this is something everyone should at least check out.
