If this was better fleshed out, this could have been a great series, but it ends barely satisfactory. Art - 10/10 the details and drawings of the spirits are incredible!!! Certain scenes you can tell a lot of love was poured into them. Plot - 5/10 the premise is great, but there is no real conclusion to the problems the characters face. Characters - 5/10 none of the characters have character development due to the story ending what feels like is the middle of the story. There's lots of intetesting characters, but as I said above there's no conclusions to their problems If the mangaka ever returns totruly finish the story, I can see it going well. At it's current state it leaves much to be desired
In every neighborhood, there is a house that stands out from the others—one with an eerie, rundown ambiance. Ayashikotogatari follows high school student Yachiho Takahara as she moves into one of these houses: an enormous, allegedly haunted house renowned for its tales of a frightening recluse who studied the supernatural within it. Yachiho hopes that such a house will hold clues regarding her mother's disappearance, and perhaps the Book of the Dead, said to be hidden somewhere inside the house, can help her find the answers she is searching for. However, Yachiho gets more than she bargained for when a hidden passage leads her to a plethora of spirits and creatures that inhabit the floor below her. The most notable of them is Moro, the caretaker spirit, whose job is to guide his kind back to the realm from which they came. In her quest to obtain the Book of the Dead, Yachiho decides to help Moro with his task, but it may prove not to be an easy one! [Written by MAL Rewrite]
"Ghostly Things" is about a teenage Girl living alone in a so said haunted mansion in search for her missing mother. Story 6/10: I would describe it as a mix between "Spirited Away", "Jujutsu Kaisen" (in much more softer way) and maybe "Noragami". While the story is really nothing special or does something astonishing I really came to like it due to its simplicity and episodical written chapter. So if you are looking for a fun little manga for a bus ride and like light hearted mini-mysterys, then this might be right for you. Art 7,5/10: The Art is really is eye candy. Nice designed ghosts and characters. Shojoesquewith the right touch of shonen. I would love to see more stuff illustrated by the mangaka with a different storyteller tho - I feel like it would be a waste for such a talent. I was going to rate it a 8 or 9 but the only downside is that all men look like women, which can lead to confussion. Character 4/10: The characters are doing there jobs quite fine and that's it. In a manga about spirits it might won't hurt the story but I couldn't help myself to grief for that lost potential. I feel like this story got axed only because the characters had so much more to offer and in the same time are just blunt with little to non character traits. Don't get me wrong they were still fun it is just the designs, backstory and concept as a whole had so much more to offer. Enjoyment 7/10: The enjoyment after reading it was quite good. While doing nothing new or special it still was a nicly paced read, offering me a fun time. Overall 6/10
