For the most part, I think it's a pretty sweet story. It's relatively short, with 24 chapters in total, so it's a rather quick read. The story follows the two young adults, Daisuke and Matsuri. They were very close childhood friends in the past, but got separated and are now reunited at university. And as you'd expect, love is blooming between them. Character-wise they're nothing out of the ordinary. Daisuke is pretty much your typical nice guy, Matsuriis more of a tsundere, although nothing extreme. Slight spoiler ahead. The only thing I really didn't enjoy was the female Senpai love-rival. She just came across as overly pushy, trying everything to get herself in the picture, even though there was no room for her since the beginning. I don't understand such self-centered characters and their delusion that their meddling is related to being in love. That being said, the love rival is still pretty much harmless compared to other manga, at least it did not go down the path of manipulation and backstabbing. But still, in my opinion she neither contributed nor was necessary for the general plot.
Fujimino Daisuke was often pushed around by his tomboy childhood friend Hino Matsuri, but several years later, they meet each other again in college where Daisuke discovers that Matsuri has developed into quite a lovely young woman. But despite that, much to Daisuke's dismay, she has also retained most of the tomboy personality that made her a little difficult to get along with in the past. (Source: MU)
"A cute quickie" is how I would describe this manga in the simplest terms. The set up of the romance is quick and snappy, and the main characters are fleshed out quite well considering the manga's length. Their dynamic is very fun to see, I especially enjoy the "rowdy-cutie" vibe of Matsuri. The third wheel character does a okay job of adding some spice and comedy to the story, and I like her first chapter a lot, although that's kinda it. The drawings are quite nice overall, I particularly enjoyed one comedic moment that featured a parody of a iconic classic painting. The ending feelsa bit rushed to me, I wish that there's at least one extra chapter near the end. But that's not really a big deal to be honest, just read it in one sitting like I did and you'll be satisfied.
Osananajimi ni najimitai or I want to get along with my childhood friend could be described as a lighthearted comedy, romance of sorts consisting of main character Fujiminoo Daisuke and main girl Hino Matsuri. I don't wanna give too much detail on the plot because the manga's only 24 chapters long. Overall I find this to be a very cute read and this manga proves that any writer could pull of a good story within such a small period of time. The art was a bit underwhelming but it didn't bother me all that much, it could've been much greater though. In terms of romancesome of chapters were oozing with juice. I mean the last few chapters were just so adorable it could make anyone smile. The comedy was solid throughout, some panels got me laughing out loud All in all it was a pretty sweet read, I just wish it could've been a bit longer because this could've been great.
