"manga so loud, you could hear the sound." -anon I actually like this manga. I enjoy reading every chapter until it's finished. First, let's start from the story. The story isn't something unique, instead it's just your generic romcom high school setting. Oe thing that separates this manga with other romcom was how straightforward and fast they progressed. The execution is pretty good overall, and I like how 'loud' the joke too. but of course, since jokes is pretty subjective, it's not always for everyone. The art... it's not good. Not that bad either, and it doesn't need to be that good in the first place anyway. Youcan make a good comedy manga without having a good art. The character, pretty good overall. Many variety characters in this manga, although the manga doesn't dive deep in the side character except for Mako sister, and even that is still not enough. Did I enjoy reading this? Absolutely. For me, the jokes is spot on, the execution is pretty good, and the ending is nice. And, this is the best part, it doesn't overstay its welcome. The manga ended with 39 chapters. Pretty short, I know. But thanks to that, it doesn't need more drama just to prolong the series. Overall: 8/10 Also, be warned. If you hate dumb manga, this isn't for you. You'll definitely hate it.
Shinichi Honda is a student with no filter for his words or his actions. A first-year high school student, he is noble and kind but as blunt as a brick, tending to speak his mind with no hesitation. Attending the same school is Mako Wakamiya, a member of the public morals committee with an incredible sense of duty. From a distance, she appears to be cool and collected, but hidden in plain sight is the fact that she is a total klutz with a maiden's heart. The first time Shinichi and Mako lock eyes, they are each wholeheartedly caught up in their own awkward situation. The brief moment when they pass by each other only leaves them dumbstruck at the other's strange appearance. Months later, disaster strikes when Mako, on committee duty, must confiscate an adult manga from Shinichi. Hilarity ensues as Shinichi leads Mako on a thunderous chase all over the school. As the deafening pair happen to meet up more and more often, maybe there is hope that the two can get along? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
This manga was... interesting, to say the least. It was a breath of fresh air compared to many other series, but at the same time hindered by the random plot turns and an abrupt ending, that while was good, is definitely giving the feeling as if the series was axed. It was nice being able to see a rather quick romance progression, with them going further than most romance manga in their relationship goals. Due to the nature of the characters (being "direct") they'd yell at each other what they want to do the most at the moment, which is great at eliminating the whole "will theywon't they" that many romance series suffer from, and we get straight to the action a couple of times. This is why it was also very weird to see a main drama plot being built on a misunderstanding and a very weird one as well. I honestly think it was not really handled well. Unfortunately, when the manga lives and dies on the characters being a one-off with them having mainly one prominent feature (they're bold/loud), it's hard to give them any depth further than a cardboard. The manga also opens a few other threads of stories for side characters and their relationships, but unfortunately while the rushed ending gives a nice resolution to our main duo, the others are left in the dust, unresolved. Something that also bugged me was how the art felt always so "busy" and "rough". Panels have A LOT of things going on to them, in a rather crude style, which I am not a huge fan of. All in all, it was overall an enjoyable manga to pass time with, but not something too impactful that I will remember for a long time.
This was a manga, but I heard the screaming ringing in my ears! Do Chokkyuu Kareshi x Kanojo is a rollercoaster ride I'll never forget. From the advancement of the main relationship to the introduction of Mako's sister's little crush, I loved this for all its glory. The sex jokes are absolutely funny. As someone who's already gotten tired of kiddie sex jokes, the jokes made in here are absolutely immaculate. Props to the author for blessing us with such throat killing humor. From almost throwing my phone onto the other side of the room with all the cuteness and hilariousness radiating from this manga, to smilingso hard my cheek muscles started to hurt, I fully recommend you read this. It's a very good read, I promise you.
This manga seriously made me think about renewing my vows! I'm not gonna shout as much as the Manga, but this is my first and only review in MAL just to give awareness of this beautiful love story, it doesn't drag endlessly justo to touch each other fingers, that gives it's own character. You're happy for them, you are nervous when they fight and truly the last chapter made me fall in love again with my wife, hence the title of this review. Nothing is perfect, would loved 3 pages of a flashback of the parents to give them more character, that would be the cherry ofa delicious cake.
Just finished reading the manga, and I somewhat like it. Here we go for the review: Story: 7/10 The story, like its title, is straightforward. It's all about a boy and a girl that are so direct about everything. It's loud, obnoxious, and irritating for some but that's the whole gimmick of the manga. It's a romance manga that doesn't take itself too seriously with all the clichés and sob stories, instead it's as straightforward as you can get. Depending on how you handle the comedic parts and the general gimmick affects how you view the manga itself. But, its worth noting that this story is not thetypical romantic-comedy genre with complex male and female leads. Nope, its just two idiots and their antics of professing their love. While yes the whole concept can be jarring to read from time to time, there are moments in the manga that slows down, and gives heartwarming moments that balances out the bizarre antics of Honda and Mako. Art: 10/10 Solid art, especially where the scenes where Honda and Mako's antics are shown, you can really feel that the author had fun drawing these scenes and their general reactions to the situation. Like the story itself, the art can go loud, and by loud, I mean REALLY LOUD. Because of that, some scenes are funny to read and sometimes you can hear their expressions. Characters: 6/10 The characters are memorable given the small cast, Honda and Mako are both similar in terms of character (given that's the title of the manga). You also have their parents, siblings and classmates that have their own certain charm to add to the manga. Enjoyment: 7/10 The manga was enjoyable to read, the comedy was really funny and the antics along with the exaggerated art style is what makes this manga really fun to read. The side stories are also nice, giving some context to previous chapters and if the comedy is too much, there are a balance of toned down scenes for more serious topics. Overall, a decent 7/10, a romance manga that doesn't take itself seriously and is somewhat averagely length. It's good that way, given if it were to drag on, then we would've gotten tired of Honda and Mako. Read it for the comedy, not for its romance.
