Honestly, i am disappointed, they never explained what Laszlo's story was, the red haired guy was suddenly cut off from the story, we never learned what Jina's motives were for insulting Naerim one last time, Roxanna's story ended like all that build up was a pile of bullshit, Mina never really meant something to this story, the music band idea was thrown out the window just like the Naerim-writes-novels idea, the lovely chubby lady was treated like she didn't exist for the ending of this, it was never explained why Fetechou's mom was what he first thought of when he saw Naerim, Roxanna was kindajust shoved in there so this would be longer, Naerim's mother became a nobody... All in all, this was all fine and dandy in the beginning but afterwards it felt like the writer just switched to a totally different story. A whole lot a bullshit. I rate it a: 4/10 - story 7/10 - art 2/10 - characters 2/10 - enjoyment 3/10 - Overall
Bullied and ostracized, Shin Naerim is looking for a way out. She has no friends, never puts up a fight, and simply endures the pain. This all changes when Naerim meets Vlad Fetechouβa centuries-old vampire who unwittingly enters a blood pact with Naerim. The nature of their bond is one of a master and servant; whenever Naerim sheds blood, a red thread appears, binding the two together. Fetechou's sole wish is to become human; the only way to accomplish this is to drink the blood of a witch, which Naerim just so happens to be. Growing closer each passing second, the pair learns to heal their own wounds as they face shattered friendships, strained familial bonds, and dreadful shadows from Fetechou's past. Literally enjoyed this manhua about a happy go lucky handsome vampire coming into the life of a fragile girl who is extremely bullied just because her mum is a witch. Honestly lads, this manhua was one of the best I've ever read in 2020. This manhua was a definite read now for me because of this coronavirus crisis trying to turn our lives upside down..... BUT ANYWAY LET'S TAKE A U turn. Basically lads, we all need someone like Fetechou in our lives whether we have an extremely bad day or just want someone to talk to. Himself and Naerim was very cute together.I liked the fact there is no extreme drama within the two but only just one argument and that was it. I loved the couple so much like omg when they are together , my heart literally melts like a candle wax, it was just so captivating y'all! I gotta give it to Narae Lee for the great art, story , character's and everything else in this manhua. Fairplay to her in making this unique type of romance manhua come true!!!!!
I pretty much agree with most of what porcelaine_china_ said, just feels very poorly thought out and all over the place. What infuriated me the most was the ending, it just felt very inconclusive and also very pseudo-deep, like I don't get what was so important about their decision(without getting into spoiler territory). Woulda probably given it a 5 or a 4 before the ending but it was so awful I gave it a 3. Male lead was fine, female lead was also fine but was making less sense I feel but that's just the story imo, other characters either have no substance and justjump in and out of the story when convenient or are just plain bad.
I love vamp romance series and this one flew under my radar till now. This review has some surface level spoils - but nothing major about the story itself. You have your typical depressed, bullied, introverted female lead. She's the daughter of a shaman and has some powers herself. She awakens an ancient vampire and a codependent relationship begins - he helps her break out of her shell & standup to her relentless bullies (while also providing companionship) and he begins fulfilling his goal of becoming human again. There's an obvious age gap which is common to this genre (vamps are usually portrayed as 100+ yrs old).It isn't really focused on, and there is a time skip at a certain point bringing our female lead to 20yrs. Male lead is still pretty flirtatious and whatnot until then - so this may not be your cup of tea if it bothers you. While reading, I considered the story to be okay. I'm not a huge fan of master/servant/puppy dog male leads because when it leads to romance it doesn't feel new. Normally these types of characters don't act differently when they do fall in love with the lead, since they're already so lovey dovey by default. I think general flirtatious behavior is pretty common with this genre but it's a little more subtle than what is portrayed in the main characters here. They act like a couple from day one pretty much. From female lead's POV, I can understand why she would fall for him. She explained it many times and it showed through her beautiful character development how much of a positive influence he was on her. Now for the guy - I didn't know why he liked her so much. Pity, maybe? Sure she's pretty and also resembles his mom (? eh) but he seemed mostly just dependent on her blood. Again, because he's the puppy dog type it was hard to discern if he actually loved her romantically or if he was just a charismatic vampire like so many are in these stories. There's really no elaborate proclamations of his love for her or anything that made me go "wow, that was nice." It seemed the female lead would do most of that and he would just follow along. Nothing really happens in this story but it definitely had the potential. I really liked the characters, but there were a lot of plot holes and characters that were discarded as it went on. Most of the story felt like it took place in her bedroom. Then the epilogue hits and it's all over the place. Why is male lead still a vampire? We don't get to really see what life is like for them as an actual couple. He really is her pet dog. I'm giving it a 4/10 because I liked the characters and their designs. But the story was not great, and the romance was stale.
