Let's start by saying that it doesn't even come close, not even to the anime. If you haven't read the light novel yet, I would recommend it before watching this manga. I found that it has many nonsensical plot twists, and not because of the premise that it's a poorly made game full of bugs and broken weapons, but because the characters themselves don't make sense. They change their minds every chapter. It's very forced how they can go from anger to instant understanding so that the story can continue without too many problems. When they included a loli in his harem, I felt alittle weird, I'm not going to lie. but they don't give her much importance, and the fan service for the mother is quite present. I have no complaints about that. The protagonist has a lot of initiative, but I must admit that he is quite clumsy. But hey, there aren't many similar manga, so maybe this one will entertain you at least, since they have many adventures in so few chapters.
What would you do if you got transported into a video game...with your mom?? That's the dilemma facing high schooler Masato Oosuki, who has been unwittingly thrown into an RPG world with his doting mother close behind as part of a secret government scheme. As an avid gamer, Masato is eager to show off his skills...but that's hard to do when your mom is an insanely overpowered, dual-wielding, multi-target specialist! (Source: Yen Press)
You know Tsuujou, the series about a Boy and his mom entering an Isekai World so they can amend their rocky relationship. The Manga is a solid adaptation of the Light Novel material compared to the anime, even tho it has less material adapted than the anime, it breathes much more life into its details. Many new scenes are given time to breathe and create a true sense of adventure for the party, not only that we have many emotional bits because of that, scenes like the ear-cleaning scene have a meaning for the characters, having (somewhat) consist buildup to it and (many times, not all)having a reason to exist The Characters are much more vivid and have better connections between them, Mamako feels much more like an actual mom than her animated counterpart, Making it easier to appreciate her care for everyone, but mostly Masato. Masato still is his "whiny" self but much more compelling, its also easier to see how much he wants to become a better son for his dear Mother. He and Wise have an almost sibling-like rivalry, making jokes at the other expense (Wise is always dropping the "Oedipus Complex" title into Masato), but they work together to be as strong as Mamako when it's needed. And everybody goes along well with Porta, Masato even treats her differently and does jokes about how "Wise should strive to be like her" The Artwork is beautiful, the Artist Meicha tries their best to bring those characters into reality and it does such an incredible job, the art style feels like an adaptation of Pochi's style (the Light Novel Artist) , and because of that it was unusual to see a panel where the characters look wrong, they are expressive, even going chibi style when it's needed and doesn't feel forced but rather a method to make the comedy better. Even on fight scenes, Meicha gives their best to show some good (tho not as good as an actual Shonen fight scene) artwork and it is much better than the show. Tsuujou Manga is a real treat, the execution of the source material is so good it makes it difficult to watch the anime adaption, but it still is not for everybody, even if it is more wholesome, people who can't get over Mamako's almost possessive nature, Masato's whining every other sentence or what the anime community told you their relationship would flourish into (believe me, it won't.) then this is not for you, even in this format, but if just want to give another shot for some laughs or to get some new appreciation, I would go without even thinking twice.
