Haru to Bonkura

This manga is an absolute hidden gem. Not to copy the other review, but I've already ordered the Japanese version of the manga (even if I can't read it). The stories all follow weird girls and awkward guys, but not every story is necessarily romantic. They don't lean too hard toward "manic pixie dream girl" either -- the women in the stories feel more like mentors and friends and independent beings than tropes. Their quirky personalities feel like something they are, rather than something they present. The men are distinct but their stories do center around the women or developments spurred by the women of thestory. The art style is simple and readable, but the most appealing aspect is the way fantasy elements are worked in to the realistic world of the stories. All the stories are firmly based in reality, but various fantasy elements are included visually. I found that these were not only beautiful, but complemented the feelings of the stories wonderfully. Overall, the stories are heartwarming and delightfully human. Watching the bumbling relationships between these characters will certainly put a smile on your face.
