What do you get when you take the best of Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai and Okite Kudasai, Kusakabe-san? You get Koi to Utatane. Short, cute and pleasant. These are the adjectives I'd choose to define this manga. You get the cute sensei Hana and his cousin(?) Kiichi who are living together. He also happens to be her student and, yeah you guessed it right, they fall in love. But wait! It's just not that! There's more to Koi to Utatane than your average student-teacher romance manga. Kiichi is a shy kid and Hana is the total opposite of her. She loves to sleep and it seemslike she has pretty much mastered the art of sleeping peacefully(Okite Kudasai, Kusakabe-san vibes totally) and helps(and sometimes forces) Kiichi to take a nap and aid him to get a good one at that. Slowly but surely they start to notice each others feelings and at the end of the manga you get to see the wedding bells tolling. Cute right? Sadly the manga seems to have been rushed quickly and we don't to get to see much of them in only 28 chapters. Nevertheless, it's cute, totally drama free and will leave you with a happy smile on your face. I'd have given this a 10/10 but stopped at the 9 just because it felt rushed towards the end. It totally deserves a 10/10. I got to know about this manga from a reddit post praising Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai. So if the kind redditor is reading this review, thanks a lot for mentioning it!
Are you suffering with insomnia? Do you need sleep advice? You wanna watch nips and tits? (Of course you do. Why wouldn't you horny f%@*er!) Are you not against with incest? Well... this is for you. At first, you are shown a guy and a girl, who are clearly living together, pretty happily if I have to add. Our ML, "Kii-kun" (I guess, it spells like "Key-kun") and FML, "Hana". Kii-kun is your typical expressionless character with a pretty good intelligent points and Hana is your typical energetic character who's basically walking wikipedia article on "how to sleep well" (and extra waifu points). Half of each chapter is informationabout sleeping postures, bedroom decorations, effects & defects of heavy/lack of sleep... You get the drill. It's just wiki articles recited by hot & cute woman who has some really good qualities, I suppose. The most useful part of the story is when they talk about how to sleep well, but the interesting part of the story is seeing the relationship getting unfold, despite being incestuous.
ML : *Is it OK to dress like that infront of me? FL : What's wrong? It's not any different from how siblings are.*
Though it's pretty obvious, the little hints it gives off is kinda cute, like the ones above. You pretty much know what it is but the little moments it gives to figure out is what I kinda like about this. No offense to anyone who likes incest but I just find it disgusting. Incest isn't my preference nor my interest, but I don't mind it as long as it doesn't make it look gross which is kinda the reason I didn't minded it in this cause the manga plays it safe and sweet. I find it disgusting because how Anime & Manga makes it to be and a lot of other gross shit I hear about it. That one koreon movie still blew my mind when I first found out the twist at the end of the movie (if you know, you know) and probably one of favourites in the regard, so it's not that I hate with passion or anything, just finds it unacceptable. The art style, backgrounds and character designs are all OK, not bad but not particularly good to write about either, except for the FML above who's obviously the main attraction of the Manga. The main problem I had with this is the 'misplaced' fan service. I'm using the word 'misplaced' because I'm not really against fan service, as long as it don't interfere with what I'm interested in. And this breaks that exact point. At left side you have dialogue and at the right side you have tits (nips included smh). Both are interesting and enjoyable in their own way but it's this culmination that breaks the immersion. Like, c'mon! What's your point? Showing tits or sleep advises? Definitely both can't reside in the same place. Thankfully, it only has this in only few chapters so it saved it from loosing more points. It's pretty short, completed it in like 2-2.5 hrs probably. Maybe because I was a little stressed with my exams and stuff, this was a pretty short & sweet enjoyable read for me. And what's more perfect than sleep advise from a waifu? Anyway, that's it. Good Night and Sweet dreams~~
This manga is the biggest waste of time in recent times. Simply put, there's pretty much no story to it, and it doesn't have any "comedic" moments to it, nor any soothing SoL moments. There's nothing redeeming in it. I've been reading it just hoping for something to happen. But chapter after chapter it's just random things that happen to our characters that bear no consequences on anything and aren't very interesting to begin with. Once in a while we see a very small hint of romance that the two main characters like each other and that's it. Then the ending, which I assume happened due to the mangagetting axed. It came out of nowhere, tried to wrap up the couple's story yet just jumped all the stages, since there was never any development to begin with. It's just plain not interesting, don't bother with it.
