Thank god they know how to work out their problems and avoid stereotypical shoujo misunderstandings. How rare it is for the girl to be the popular one - and the guy to embrace working in a flower shop. Characters are sweet, mature, considerate, and supportive towards each other. No toxic behavior! FL and ML are respective of each other and know their boundaries. Honestly quite a gem in the shoujo category these days, great for a laidback read and gives you quite a lot of serotonin. The little flower notes at the end of each chapter were a nice addition as well.
oh how I totally fell in love with this read!! both ran and akira are unique and endearing in their own way, they were wonderful characters with strong personalities and great characterization. I really, really liked the continued comparison of the âmountain top flower and the sunââ it was super sweet and made their story all the more compelling. akira is a breath of fresh air in terms of male leads. he is, by all means, a total ray of sunshine who is just entirely good natured. him and ran get together relatively early on, so the story is primarily the development of them actuallybeing in a relationshipâ which I tend to prefer as opposed to a dragged out will they wonât they situation. i was anxious at first that this would make the story a little boring, but it wasnât at all. watching the pair get to know each other and help each other grow made it entirely worthwhile. character development is the main basis for the story, not only for the main couple, but for several side characters as well. this isnât anything particularly revolutionary or unique in terms of shoujo manga, however, that doesnât mean it isnât an absolutely wonderful story. the art is beautiful, the characters are fun, likeable, and well developed, and itâll leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy.
Ran Takamine is beautiful, intelligent, and athletically proficient. Her near-perfect demeanor causes her classmates to deem her difficult to approach, often comparing her to a flower blooming high atop a mountain. However, an encounter with the blissfully carefree Akira Saeki surprises yet comforts her. After all, not all people are afraid of her. When Ran's mother requests her to visit Soleil, a small but elegant flower shop across town, she never expects to run into Akira again. As it turns out, his family owns Soleil and he helps around the store. But this fact embarrasses him so much that he urges Ran to keep it a secret. Enraptured by their incidental meeting, Ran continues to notice Akira at school to the point where she can no longer brush off her thoughts about him. As days turn into weeks, Ran begins to wonder which warms her heart moreâthe exotic blossoms at Soleil, or the boy who can speak the language of flowers. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Takane no Ran-san was such a refreshing read for me. If you're looking for a light hearted feel good manga this one's for you. I haven't read a manga like this in ages. I've always been a big fan of slice of life manga and anime, this is just the best mix of romcom and slice of life. Ran and Akira were very endearing characters that I didn't find it hard falling in love with them and their story too. I just really enjoyed it and its that type of manga you happen to stumble upon not knowing it was something you just need toread at the moment.
If you need a romance that is easy to enjoy and doesn't involve a ton of drama, this story will be a great pick. Takane no Ran-san is a very delicate, soft shoujo romance that follows a cute high-school couple as they experience many "firsts." It's so fluffy and sweetâthis manga is a very wholesome read that warms the heart. It's a lighthearted, uncomplicated story that's easy to binge in one go. The shoujo art style is very pretty, and I absolutely loved the flowery themes throughout the story. Both of the protagonists are adorable and have likable personalities, and I think both of their characterdesigns are very cute. I also really love the conclusion to the story; the author did a fantastic job at keeping the wholesome theme going even till the end of the manga. If you are looking for a soft and lighthearted manga to put you in a good mood, definitely read Takane no Ran-san!
