There are two reasons why I began reading this manga. First, my friend dared me to read a yaoi manga, but this was as close as I could approach that genre (no offense to anyone who like yaoi). Also, I started reading this manga after a sudden personal craze for gender bender manga. I was ecstatic when I finally found a manga that almost fulfills both requirements with great art and great characters. However, I thought that the overall plot was a bit cliched and forced throughout the entire series. Starting off with the positive, I thought the mangaka had drawn thecharacters absolutely beautifully with each character having their own stylistic uniqueness. In particular, the protagonist, Kei, was perfectly drawn to look male most of the time, but female at others. Also, I thought the characters themselves were great in this manga. Although some were cliche, many of the characters were hilarious, unique, and likeable. However, the reason the score for this manga is a 7 is because of the plot. This is solely my opinion, but I really thought that the romance and the changes that the protagonist goes through were really forced and unrealistic. I thought their was a lack of depth in the romance and it felt as if the two main characters only ended up romantically because they were obliged love each other as the leads of the story. Overall, its a good manga to read. Although the plot was annoying at some times, the art and unique characters grabbed my attention right away. If you are a fan of gender bender romances, I would really recommend this manga.
Houou High is a famous and incredibly prestigious all-boys school. It's also the stomping grounds for the sons of the most well-renowned families from all walks of life, which gives rise to rumors that it holds a monopoly on money and power. Our protagonist, Kei Saeba, ends up enrolling in this veritable garden of blooming amateurs due to her mother's guile. Now she must pretend she's a boy for three years or she "will be erased"! I love this manga so much. It is one of my top favorites for now. This is one of your gender bender romance type. What makes this interesting is that it is hilarious. If I can describe the female character it would be that she is a lesbian and very dumb. The male protagonist really loves to hold pranks towards kei(female protagonist) which makes it interesting.
What a mess. A lesbian girl gets tricked into going to an all-boys school by her mother so her daughter would un-lesbianify. Basically her mom is hoping her gayness would vanish by sending her to that school. Really dumb and homophobic. Like is this even worth the read (no cuz I skipped) but yea then it says that she actually has a trauma so she hates guys (the heck). *SPOILERS* At the end, after 10 chapters of boring backstories, she freaking gets with the shortie who is a guy, which I saw from a mile away. I really don't know what was going on inthe author's thinking that actual people would find it interesting if a lesbian likes a boy. Like the heck? This is way worse than those manga with freaking chicks who don't care about love then suddenly realizing that this hot dude makes their heart pound. Don’t read this.
This manga is hilarious. HILARIOUS. To me. I remember just laughing the whole time and being amazed at how different this story was compared to others. The art was very clean and had adorable little chibi drawings. I also waited FOREVER for the newest chapter to come out. It was definitely worth it. The girl looks like a handsome guy and likes girls. She does not like boys. Does not. She pukes xD her mother then 'tricked' her into going to an all-girls and then it turns out, it was an all-boys school (her mom doesn't like that she likes girls). Then you mix inan abusive sadist roommate, a tough looking but kind hearted guy, an intense masochist, and two twins ready for destruction then you have a story! ^^ oh. There's romance too
I chose this manga because I've recently only watched horror, and I wanted to read a light series that will ease me up after all of the scenes I previously saw. Boy, was I glad I stumbled upon this one. To begin with, the art was captivating me. Ok, no exaggeration, the art was great in drawing face expressions and eyes. But leaving that aside, the characters weren't ones you'd easily get bored with, sometimes you'd find them a drag or not new but I can promise you that you'll take a liking to them. To me, this manga sounds like a self-improvement type andI personally liked it. It could get all so serious, but the next second it can lighten the mood and make you laugh. The main lead, Kei isn't someone annoying nor hateable either, so this manga can easily be read and enjoyed, I have my words. I loved this manga, and I haven't gotten enough of it! Make sure to mark it in your list.
