Just finished Jinmen, and honestly… I don’t know how to feel. On one hand, it’s such a wild, creative concept grotesque, disturbing, and undeniably unique. The moment you start, it pulls you into this bizarre, nightmarish world where the line between horror and absurdity gets blurrier with every chapter. It dares to go places most manga wouldn’t even touch, and for that alone, I kind of respect it. The intensity, the pacing, the constant escalation it keeps you hooked, even when you’re not sure why you’re still reading. There’s this chaotic, dreadful energy that just works. But on the flip side… man, some parts just felt off.The tone shifts can be jarring—you’ll go from psychological horror to oddly emotional moments that don’t always land. Some character decisions had me side-eyeing my screen like, “Really? ” And while the core idea is genius, I can’t help but feel like the execution got messy at times, especially toward the middle and end. Like it wanted to say something bigger, but couldn’t quite decide what. That said, Jinmen is definitely one of those stories you won’t forget. It’s flawed, unsettling, oddly thought-provoking and occasionally kind of dumb but in a way that weirdly works? It’s not for everyone, and I wouldn’t even say it’s good in the traditional sense, but it’s. something. Something wild, raw, and maybe even a little brilliant under the chaos. If you're into horror that's more “WTF” than polished, give it a shot. Just don’t expect to sleep easy after. Or ever look at animals the same way again.
