In the quaint seaside resort town of Atami lies Kinme Cleaning, a laundry service run by Wakana Kinme. Despite having no memory of her life before moving there, Wakana has spent the past two years quietly building a new life among the locals. She tends to garments entrusted to her with gentle hands and meticulous care, each carrying memories far more fragile than the fabric itself. Wakana becomes a familiar presence in the town as she shares small yet precious moments with everyone. The clothing she cleans tells stories of their owners' everyday lives, allowing her to safeguard their memories even as her own remain out of reach. As she continues to wash away stains both physical and psychological, her life becomes a gentle testament to the comfort found in ordinary momentsāand to the idea that even without a past, she can still belong. Wash it all away is yet another frustrating watch because on one hand, I love Kinme, sheās gorgeous and one of the most loveable protagonists of the season. I also enjoyed learning the ins and outs of running a cleaning business. Whether it was the actual cleaning process itself, the machinery, the business end of things, it opened my eyes and gave me a new appreciation for all the local cleaning shops. Then it all goes out the window when this show insists on forcing fanservice and romance with a minor. Itās such a weird dichotomy because 50 percent of an episode will be themost wholesome and educational stuff, then you have 10 minutes spent on Kinme ass shots, pit shots, random bouncing titties and Kinme trying to groom a high school kid. For some of you thatās going to be a āyay sign me upā more power to you. For me, it was really disconcerting and took me out of the viewing experience. A shame because I do think this series has potential and the amnesia plot line is interesting, it just doesnāt know what it wants to be. I used the term identity crisis a lot when describing this show this season and I stand by that being what this show struggles with. It goes from wholesome slice of life cleaning sim to ecchi romance on a dime and it makes it hard to take either of them seriously. If they came out the gate and established this as an ecchi, fair enough, but going back and forth and expecting me to take you seriously.. yea, no. I just want to see a cute girl teaching me how to remove stains from clothes or restoring old tapestries, Iām not here for a groom off. I was totally fine with the young man having a crush on Kinme, sheās gorgeous, talented, has that girl next door vibe etc., and heās a young hormone filled teenager, itās normal. Whatās not normal is how she interacts with him when we have established the fact sheās an adult. You can tell itās a male targeted work because it leans into this heavily, especially in the last few episodes. Iām not even opposed to romance in this story, like thereās several adult women Kinme couldāve been shipped with because yuri is justice. Or hell, you couldāve introduced a regular adult guy as a customer, kept the high school kid as a little brother figure, etc., but no, you had to take the worst possible romance option.. the fanservice stuff Iām not opposed to either, if it were done better. The scenes just feel so random and out of character for Kinme. They donāt fit the tone of the story. It just feels like a lot of stuff mashed together that isnāt cohesive here in my opinion. The actual cleaning sequences are really good, I learned a lot of techniques and methodology, seeing Kinme overcome difficult cleaning jobs and try unconventional approaches was also dope. Her work ethic and commitment to customer satisfaction was so endearing because itās a small town and so many people rely on her, bringing their most prized belongings to be restored by her and the way sheās determined to never let them down.. sheās such a cool character. I wouldāve liked more on her amnesia plot line, felt like they set that up and it went MIA for weeks until the end, but other than that, the story itself is solid. The way Kinme connects with the town through her business was sweet. Production values look good here. Show is beautiful, character designs, especially Kinme, are awesome, decent voice acting and the direction is surprisingly good too. I know I had a lot of complaints in the first half of the review, but I didnāt hate this show. I just think it wasted potential and couldāve been even better. I still love the premise, love Kinme and her relationships with the townspeople. Itās really wholesome and heartwarming for 60 percent of these episodes and thereās just that 40 percent thatās.. weird for me. Definitely not a bad watch though and Iāve got the first few manga volumes, so Iāll check them out. Wash it all away gets 7 towels out of 10.
Are you searching for relaxing, clean, cute and sweet anime? This is the masterpiece of slice of life animes! Kinme owns a small laundry and puts her soul into cleaning things. She has a lot of customers and delivers clothes directly to their homes every day! Kimne regularly prints extremely cute posters. Kinme has a wonderful personality. I was fascinated by her from the first episode. She is reliable, friendly and very kind. She likes to clean and goes for a run every morning. And she has beautiful black hair. When she smiles she looks like sun! Of course she is not perfect and shealso has her flaws. Also Kinme lost her memories two years ago, at the same time as she open her laundry, but the anime never really explains her past but it adds something mysterious. Over the course of the episodes, three main things happen in the anime: Kinme washes clothes and textile items, gets closer to other characters, and gets better at her job. It may sound boring to watch someone clean their clothes, but it was really enjoyable. You can see how much effort Kinme puts into it. It's not very surprising that Kinme becomes friends with her customers. In my opinion, her closest friend is Yagara Asami. They are not very similar, but they complement each other perfectly. In one part, they go to dinner together, which I was very pleased because we learned more about how Kinme spends her free time with her friends. Her personality also appeals to Nairo, an adorable little girl in town. Kinme teaches her washing techniques, and Nairo then teaches her how to use social media, helping Kinme gain new customers. I can't forget Ishimochi Kyuushou. When I was just looking at the official MAL website, he is listed as a main character, of course under Kinme. Honestly, it surprised me and didn't surprise me at the same time. I think he is in almost every episode and he is the main love interest for Kinme. I would say on the contrary, because Kinme doesn't perceive him that way, she sees him as a friend. I think he is quite interested in her. If we see the second season, it will be very interesting with him. Then there are his friends. They don't appear very often in the anime, but they are still interesting characters. About halfway through the series, Kinme befriends Hatsuayu Uka, a very shy but sweet girl. They go on a trip to an island together after Kinme helps her with her career. They're going to do modeling together! And lastly, we have the owner of the place where Kimme's laundry is located. The old lady rents it to her. She has such a mysterious personality and Kinme sometimes can't tell if she's joking or serious. She pretends to be hostile but she likes Kinme and Kinme knows it and understands her. Oh, a total Tsundere! Definitely watch this series.
it was good... on early episodes cause it was educational but yeah since it was 12 episode anime it would naturally dried up so the goal after that was they don't know so they give this random ass story for the main girl that didnt explain throughout the series, showing her daily life, showing story to her costumers, introducing online advertising to the girl, fan service, LEADING US SUPER HARD to romantic scenes that would make us think it has potential for romance but in the end nothing happen lol, ngl main girl turn into onee-san personification mascot most of the episodes. aside from the maingirl the anime is seriously lost on its own anime, idk wtheck director's thinking when making this anime. ITS WAY TOO OUT OF PLACES!, it would be better if they make this anime short episodes or just make it 3-4 episodes only, in the end it shape closer to daily life anime without conclusion to even one thing SPECIALLY when they leading us way too hard to romance but wont progress it than just single life onee-san im seriously mad cause it has a solid romance potential but they didnt go for it and having a past but didn't show despite they have a chance to show it since they have a lot of episodes, now idk if they did this on purposed cause maybe they planning for season 2? if they are it explained how this season was out of places
I watched Kirei ni Shitemoraemasu ka, You can tune in and tune out, yes, it's one of those anime. You get what you asked for by reading the synopses and there is nothing more to it, no big reveal, no stakes, well almost no stakes and that is perfectly fine. The backgrounds are stunning and in my opinion alongside the soothing soundtrack the main reason to tune in. It's a Travelvlog ad in a way, you want to be there, and you kinda are. For 20 minutes you can relax, let the scenery pop in front of you and calm yourself down. The show takes potshots at a romanticsubplot but ultimately doesn't go anywhere. If you've seen similar shows this is familiar to you. You WILL learn about cleaning and properly maintaining clothing articles, and some segments you can apply to your way to the washing machine and/or washerette. This approach to display hobby- or handywork activities, for the keen observer of this kind of genre anime, is infact not new either and will also be very familiar to you. I watched Kirei ni Shitemoraemasu ka, and if you want to enjoy the gorgeous japanese seaside resort town and tropical get-away vibes and discover how you can properly maintain your laundry I believe you should too.
Very enjoyable show if you love slow life anime This type of anime is really nice to watch after working all day and just want to relax a lot of wholesome and cute moments with characters interaction it's not just that but they also showed us how to do right laundry such as different clothes need different handling, i always thought laundry only wash the clothes and fold it but this show made my realize it's not easy to wash different type of clothes I think if they're brave enough to put some romance in it and not just bait it will be perfect They always makekinme & kyu blushing when they're talking but they didn't do anything about that and just leave it without any development the fan service it's kinda stupid though ,kinme is an adult but she changed her clothes outside on a beach?! also when kyu was stuck with her during rainstorm she doesn't mind wearing revealing cloth, maybe kinme think kyu is just a boy but still it's kinda stupid for letting her guard down like that when sleeping with highschool boy overall i really love the show and i recommend it to anyone who just want to chill and watching something nice without thinking about the plot
