In a conspiracy, the supreme leader of the martial arts world, Dao Zong, was killed, and the leaders of various gangs were either killed or imprisoned, leaving the martial arts world in chaos. In order to rebuild the order of the martial arts world, Yan Jiyu, the leader of Changfeng Pavilion, sent messengers to various sects, intending to establish a new "righteous" martial arts world headed by him. However, at this time, the fledgling Yang Ren was entrusted to deliver a letter left by Dao Zong. Along the way, he was surrounded by powerful enemies and was extremely dangerous, but he relied on his passion and chivalry to constantly break through himself and defeat his opponents. While his martial arts skills improved rapidly, he also met a group of chivalrous and righteous people. What should the martial arts world look like? Yang Ren couldn't answer, but he knew it was definitely not what Yan Jiyu said. Yang Ren put up a big banner: "Chengfeng Gang", and quickly gathered together. (Source: iQIYI, translated)

Not that interesting. It's a martial arts donghua about a young man who's been getting patroned by powerful martial artists all his life. One day the town he lives in gets attacked by a corrupt sect and the main character is forced to go on an adventure. On this adventure he learns some revealing truths, gains power, makes friends and upholds righteousness. The plot is incredibly wearisome. Besides the very cheesy last episode which makes some slightly interesting revelations it's largely a filler-like mess. The main character gains power with no effort or thought or cultivation, over and over, just because he is the main character. The villains are bland, arrogant and woefully bad at their job. The side characters are mostly likeable but don't have any growth and only really serve to prop up the MC. The animation is very good. Characters look great, they move well and fight even better. The fight scenes are the highlight of this donghua with cool colorful effects and abilities, they're not very fluid but they do look epic. Music and voice acting are also above average. It's sad to see so much effort in animation marred by such boring storytelling, but alas. 6/10
