Massive waste of time and money. Saw this in theatres during the limited release. Out of the 1h45m, probably less than 10 minutes was new content. A portion of that was also CGI. I already knew the movie was going to be a recap of s1 and 2 so I was prepared, unlike JJK, but I wasn't expecting it to be 90% of the movie. To make matters worse, this is a shounen romance anime, so some of the people who attended were basement-dwelling weebs who crawled out of the woodwork and have no idea how to act in public. Constant shouting of random shit during thescreening because they're obnoxious and think they're funny. Reddit memes level cringe jokes. This is more of a personal experience issue rather than relating to the actual film, but it worsened my perception since I was ticked off. I'm honestly getting sick and tired of these money-grabbing "movies". There wasn't even enough content to turn this into an OVA. I could see it if they wanted to wrap up the series and give a proper finale while also packing the whole thing into a shorter format for new anime fans, but they've already announced s3. Watch the first few minutes of this movie, then skip to the end and watch the last 5 or so minutes. Everything else is a recap.
English On February 13, I went to see Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu at the cinema, and the truth is that I can't say everything I felt with this movie (I cried throughout the movie haha) It was a film that, even though it is a compilation, touches your heart, it brought very important and new scenes and, well, in the end, something beautiful. I swear that if I wasn't working on the weekend I would go see it again, aaaaaa I enjoyed it so much, I want to see it again, I love this anime with all my heart and I hope there are allpossible seasons, it is my favorite romance anime and having chosen this movie to watch in the month of love makes me very happy, plus I take it as a birthday gift for myself. At first I wanted to take a trip to Argentina to see the movie, but luckily it came out in Chile too hahaha. 100% recommended for those who saw the series since they skip a lot of nice things if they only watch the movie This movie deserves more than a 10 out of 10, honestly.
A solid 8/10 for a compilation film. They managed to present two different perspectives, and I liked that. Itâs not bad for a recap, and it even includes a few extra scenes. Kensuke Ushio shines as always; it was a delight to listen to his work on the big screen. The animation is quite solid/good. In the scene that many people will recognize, which was adapted into this movie, the CGI isnât distracting at all and is well done. There are some slightly static shots, but they donât last long and donât feel uncomfortable or ruin the experience in any way. The series maintains its realistic direction in theadditional scenes, which I really appreciate and which fits perfectly with what the story is trying to convey. Iâm not sure whether the third season will keep this same direction or follow the original scene order, but this aspect worked very well. It felt very fast-paced, and thatâs a good thing. Despite being a summary, the pacing was perfect, and personally, I barely noticed the 1 hour and 40 minutes of runtime. The movie and the series differ in one aspect: while the series focuses on a more realistic and slow approachâexploring the protagonistâs insecurities and gradually highlighting Yamadaâs personalityâthe movie leans more toward presenting a somewhat sweet, romantic relationship. We know that what defines BokuYaba isnât sweetness, but rather the natural and unique interactions between its protagonists. Still, I donât mindâitâs clearly a Valentineâs-type movie and fulfills its purpose without any issues. I highly recommend watching the series first. Itâs much more complete and gives a far better idea of what the story truly is about. Even so, if you want a fresh recap with a few extra scenes, itâs a good experience.
English/Ingles. If youâre hesitating to watch this movie, Iâd say give it a chance. Although itâs a compilation, the scenes are very well selected and arranged, and the added music perfectly complements the narrative. My only personal critique would be the use of CGI in some of the final scenes, but rather than a flaw, itâs a matter of taste; it doesnât ruin the experience. In short, itâs a great movie that gives us a beautiful ending, an open door that may eventually be confirmed with the passage of time in the third season. Shin-Ei once again proves why itâs such a standout studio: after so many years, it continues to deliver and even surpass expectations. If youâre thinking of watching it, go for it. It will fill you with fond memories of the previous seasons and provide an ending that leaves you satisfied, making it worth watching even as a compilation.
tldr: a very streamlined condensed version of the show with most of the high moments being present and well presented. I'd recommend it to people that have watched the show or for those that want a quicker more focued experience. That being said the movie has a narrative frame around it which is a story arc that comes quite late in the manga and is a very very wholesome. So there is something for everybody. People that are here for the new stuff could watch the first 5 and the last 10 minutes though. It's a compilation movie so it's trying to condense 24 episodes into1h45m. So the movie does cut several arcs out and others short. Bokuyaba always focused on quick resolutions to presented issues and didn't wallow in drama so the pacing still somewhat works. The subjective narrative high points, to me, are mostly present and the animation, sound and presentation are great. The show itself did a great job and the movie just adds onto that. There is a band sequence with music and it's not a genre I'm very familiar with but I've seen girls band cry and bocchi and I gotta say it was pretty good. Models are cg but where very fluid and not uncanny at all and the song and lyrics are great. Overall 8/10 because I just love this story so much
