Konoha Satou has a dark history. After all, she spent her teen years writing self-indulgent fantasy romance fics-like her Dark History. But since she's become its most despicable villainess, remembering every last detail is now a matter of life-and-death. Having avoided the first couple of death flags, Satou's suddenly left in the dark when a mysterious stranger returns from the Lily Kingdom-a character she doesn't recall writing in the original script. Although Yomi claims to be her ally, can Satou really trust a character she knows nothing about in such a dangerous world? (Source: Yen Press)

âIf it isnât the consequences of my own actionsâ the anime. Ever created your own head canon/OC and wanted to escape to that world? Well, be careful what you wish for. As Iana discovers in this show, things donât always turn out as rosey as we imagine them in our heads. Tenkuro isnât a groundbreaking show, but it is an extremely fun Otome style story because it follows Iana dealing with the edgy universe she created back in school as an escape from her mundane life. While her real life was boring, this world she created in her story was anything but. Itâs a worldof magic, hot guys, perfect female self inserts like her namesake Konoha and a villainess who is constantly trying to kill her sister and is hated by the entire kingdom. Iana being reincarnated as the villainess and having to deal with the fallout from the story she wrote is so fun to see play out. Yes, a lot of the things you see in this show are not original. Weâve seen them done in many other Otome shows. The thing that makes this show fun is that itâs aware of those tropes and is poking fun of how cringe they are through the lens of Iana who wrote this story. Seeing Iana fight to change the perception people have of her and ensure she gets a good ending, even though everything in this world is stacked against her was a blast. Thereâs a nice amount of romantic teasing, comedy, some action, this has everything I could want in a shojosei like this. We get 1000 male self insert isekai slop shows a year, so I see absolutely nothing wrong with the ladies getting a fun parody spirited show like this! Your enjoyment of this show will basically come down to how much you like Iana. If you find her antics funny, youâll have a good time. If you take everything too seriously in this, youâll wonât. Fortunately for me, all of Ianaâs jokes and gags hit. Seeing her overcome one obstacle just for another death/bad end flag to pop up in its place was great. The absurdity of the story is what makes it to me. This show gets progressively more unhinged as we go on, but itâs also got a genuine charm to it. Iana begins to empathize with the character of Iana and feels bad for creating such a world where people had to endure such hardships. Obviously most of us are not going to be isekaiâd into our own story worlds, but I do think itâs a nice little creative thought process to envision how YOU would feel being in the shoes of a character you created. It adds an authenticity to the story and will probably help you write a better one overall. The way things diverge from the original story she created as the show goes on keeps things unpredictable and engaging as well. Iana doesnât know whatâs coming next which means she needs to fully understand her characters and world. Iâm a romance merchant so for me, after Iana herself, her interactions with the male leads, especially Sol, were awesome. In typical villainess fashion, Iana becomes the center of everyoneâs attention and pulls all the hot guys. While some like Yomi are just plot conveniences, I actually really liked how things played out with she and Sol. Itâs a gradual thawing that shifts to romance and itâs so sweet! I will definitely be reading more for them! The production values arenât the best here, but theyâre good enough for what the show is. Iana looks pretty, Konoha is cute, Sol, Yomi and Guinoford are hot. Thatâs all you need. Really enjoyed this show from start to finish. This has to be one of the most underrated shows of the season. If you go in with the understanding that itâs supposed to be campy comedy series that pokes fun at some traditional Otome tropes, youâll really enjoy this. Iana is one of the most fun MCs this season and every moment sheâs on screen is such a trip. Iâll miss this show Tenkuro gets 9 out of 10.

I thought this was going to be a very mid villainess story but it's actually one of the best depictions of how weird and horny middle school girls are. And all without sexualizing the female protagonist. The main character is reincarnated into a story she wrote as a middle schooler, but she's in her 20s when it happens. It's not my favorite trope. The character animation is pretty low quality but I think it's because they decided to put more money into unique animations that convey emotion or vibe which worked well and really saved it imo from looking too cheap. I also think, given thatthe world was written by a middle schooler, the animation seems apt. We get so much empathetic anime about chunibyo boys and it's about time we got something equally empathic towards girls of the same age. And it's not just acknowledging it, but omg also growing from it? Commenting on her internalized middle schooler misogyny?! I feel undeserving of something so wonderful. It's legitimately funny and very obvious that the people who made it, cared. I think it's the first piece of media about teenage girls that actually made me feel seen.
This was an absolutely delightful play on the isekai trope that refuses to take itself seriously. The author is giving Osaka/Kansai coded humor, which was so much fun to watch. Even more so when you understand the fun little play on words going on throughout the show as well. Critique (possible spoiler): The only thing that threw me off guard was having the only blatantly queer character be a villain and an implied r*pist. As much as I enjoy seeing queer kisses on screen, this definitely left an odd taste in my mouth. Our FL does acknowledge that, in MS, she basically made all relevantfemale characters lesbians since "everyone needs to love the heroine." Her current self, on the other hand, sees past this 2D way of writing stories/characters. This then becomes a bit of a... depends on how you want to interpret it situation. 1) This villainization of a lesbian character is due to her middle school self needing every single person in her story to be obsessed with the Heroine. This is not actually a negative commentary on the queer community but rather a jab at her past self for making such a villainous female character. 2) The anime is just going along with the homophobic rhetoric of queer people being predatory. Aka, a mindset that can, unfortunately, still be found here in Japan.
I think this show did a great job of executing exactly what it promised us: a story written by a dumb, edgy teenager, and said teenager facing the consequences after growing up. The cringey and generic parts feel intentional, making it not painful to watch and instead just pretty funny. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy villainess stories and dramatic main characters with wholesome intentions. The story isnât very predictable, and, as one may expect from a story written by a young teen, slightly all over the place, but not in a bad way. The main character is a bit paranoid about deathflags, but this is mainly because she thinks in absolutes: she wrote her characters as stereotypes, with said things they would âabsolutelyâ do, such as protecting the heroine, her sister, and things they would âabsolutelyâ never do, like trusting her, the villainess. She believes this, while forgetting the human aspects the characters have gained after her story became her reality. Hoping for a second season :>
It's so thrilled! I'd hope to watch more some new episodes if possible!
