Infidelity

This is a short, original Chinese animated movie that tells the story of a general's wife who runs away with her lover due to a strained relationship with her husband whom she does not love. The general discovers the affair and plots revenge. The movie is set in a seemingly serious historical feudal backdrop, but the inclusion of modern sponsorships and references adds a good sense of humour. The minimalistic backgrounds and character designs are reminiscent of Yuasa Masaaki's animation style, with an unusually bright colour palette and warped character expressions. However, the movie's weakness lies in its unnecessary use of long dialogues instead of relyingprimarily on conveying points through visuals. Some scenes also feel slow and dragged, detracting from the overall pacing.
