There was once a man who was summoned to another world, and saved it. Of course, he became too popular there, and turned into an isekai-normie. However, that man fell into a "trap" and was forcibly returned to his original world. Moreover, he had to start over as a baby! This is the story of the way-too-fantastic ex-hero who lived as a gloomy high-schooler, as he gets summoned once again to that same other world in a very unexpected development! This is the 200th anime I've watched since I made my account here, so I decided to write a short review to celebrate this "distinguished" moment. [TLDR: I could have choosen a better one] You may ask why it is recommended despite I rated it for a measly 4? The thing is, this show has some merits despite the abysmal execution. Such merits which is rare in the isekai genre. You may wonder, what merit can a crappy generic isekai have? Simple, a finished story. That alone is commendable. Well, this is the sad reality of the isekai genre. It counts almost a miracle if weever see the end of an adventure. Other than that the only aspect of the show worth mentioning are the characters. Don't expect much, but the MC is acceptable. Nothing spectacular, but he is not a whimpy looser, which is always a win in my book. The sidekicks are forgettable cardboard cutouts though. Not to mention most of them are completly unneccesary. Anyway, as an Isekai connoisseur, I have seen far worse. What are the flaws? Basically everything else. So I'm not gonna waste your time explaining them, here is a list instead: -Low budget animation -Horrendous, laughable fight coreography -Unremarkable stock OST (and terrible sound balance) -Semi-interesting premise ruined by the painfully unimaginative writing and catastrophic pacing -Episode starts->MC goes to a new place->Meets with an old friend->Friend overjoyed->Flashback how they met. Rince and repeat. -I don't even know what the hell was the last 3-4 episodes. Damn, it was garbage. The finale is semi-decent though. In summary, a horribly executed garbage show, which doesn't even meet the fairly low Isekai standards, but at least a finished product, and I appriciate the attempt. So, to support the initiative, I slapped a recommended tag on it. It would be nice to see more finished Isekai stories, but for god's sake, please execute it at least decently.

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time? What is this, the anime version of Back to the Future, but shitty in every way? To be honest, ask any Isekai connoisseur if they enjoy as much trash as they like, because Japan will not relent and release more than one Isekai show like this, which begs the question: "When will the Isekai trends ever die?" And in this season, more than that reincarnated aristocrat harem of a fantasy show that turns out to be subpar-ly decent, there is one show that makes the cut for the worst offending idea of all: novelist Kazuha Kishimoto's Isekai Shoukanwa Nidome desu a.k.a Summoned to Another World for a Second Time, which has an interesting concept, but is laid off from the shitty ideas that we've come to expect from genuine, trash Isekai. There is that small consolation knowing that the work itself is based off of the twist of an already existing, overused trope, because this idea genuinely hasn't been tried out before. Getting Isekai-ed to the same world twice is a pretty novel concept, since most copycat works that only do the process once have many in-between, and the majority of them all suck ass. So, this show does that process once with the whole "summoned Hero goes on a journey, claims a party of friends in the process to defeat the Demon Lord, then leaves once the job is done" shtick, and then comes back again to see how the world is doing. For once, I felt a sigh of relief, thinking that this show would be the differentiator in the sea of boring and mundane Isekai. But nope, IseNido (in short) proceeds to ramp up the typical decrepit wasteland of what makes Isekai shows bad, by rehashing the ENTIRE "defeating the bad guy" storyline and plot once again, which makes the "Nidome" a.k.a Second Time around a lot more sufferable than it already is. So, good concept, but still based on the overused tropes that are a dime, a dozen. The characters don't fare so well either. Almost all of them are unlikable, and that includes MC Setsu. Something about him shrugs me the wrong way, despite him being the capable Hero who has saved the fantasy world once, and now is doing the same thing again, which makes it twice in a row. The smugness of Setsu I don't care for it very much, but I understand that that's one part of his character trait of being unfazed, even when trouble brews around every corner. Not even the other characters could salvage the trash that this show already has, and for a very good reason: first-time authors nowadays, especially newbies, will use overused Isekai tropes as their launchpad, and no matter how bad or good the source material's going to be, we, the audience, will suffer immensely. Hot on the heels of 2020's worst show to ever exist (a la Gibiate), Studio Elle is "miraculously" back from the dead as a hired studio to adapt this shitty Isekai trash work, and need I say more about what to expect from a third-rate, F-grade studio? With sloppy and non-cohesive animation to boot, IseNido heading for the waste bin is appropriate given how everyone in the staff team is treating it as such. Not even the music can save this show, because it's just that unmemorable, If the OP is some generic Shonen-feel song, the ED is some idol-like song that just didn't pop the way that it did. Maybe Me is probably one of the worst new-gen idol girl groups to be created in this modern day, producing songs that are just not that engaging at all since the days of Kaijin Kaihatsu-bu no Kuroitsu-san in Winter 2022. This show can be written off without any issues, it's just trash, period. And let that sink in for every non-inspirational Isekai series that nothing will do to change the perception.
Big waste of time, there is nothing that is really good, the production is weak, the direction is bad, the script is rubbish. What it has the most are clichés, inconsistencies and things that embarrass others. So rubbish that I don't have the slightest disposition to write one more line about this anime. I also feel that anything I write after I've said it's rubbish will be unnecessary and kind of redundant. This anime is very mediocre, it is a reference to how a work should not be done. If an artificial intelligence had written the script, it wouldn't be so generic, so shameful, so disconnected,so imbecile, at least it would be intelligent. The girls suck, the protagonist sucks, the villains suck, and the production sucks. Help! At the beginning of the season I went to read the manga and saw a couple of good ecchi jokes at the beginning of it, but they were absurdly censored in the anime adaptation and spoiled their comedy. Because of this, I thought that further ahead interesting scenes could appear, but what a mistake, this work is a perfect combo of bad things. The only thing that was apparently good about the manga, the anime managed to spoil.
I wanted to like this anime. I'm easy to please, I consume many anime that most people consider mediocre or straight up trash. I'm very forgiving of a lot of things, but man this one was rough. The first 8 episodes were acceptable to my low standards, I noticed some things that were a bit too silly to overlook for most people, but for me, it wasn't that big of a deal. The last 4 episodes broke me. It takes a lot for me to hate something, but immediately I was turned off. At this point I just wanted to finish it. I needed palate cleansersbetween the remaining episodes. It was bad enough that I felt compelled to write a review. I normally avoid writing reviews, because I know not everyone is as forgiving of anime as I am. I've seen many reviews where they say certain studios completely botched series' and took too many liberties with story changes and order, so I had to know if it was the same for Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome desu. I've been reading it for a bit now, I plan to read all of it, and I have come to the conclusion that it is significantly better. Setsu is a bit more interesting, he's not the generic good guy the anime depicts, he has more flaws and it makes him somewhat more likeable. The anime removed and added things, where if they had just stuck to the source material, it would have been fine. The story of the anime was all over the place, it was rushed and reveals of powers weapons and abilities were lackluster and unimpressive. Many supporting characters are completely wasted, forgettable, rushed or no background info, and such generic npcs that it hurts. I recognize that it's still not amazing, but the source material is way better to me by comparison. The way that the source was written was already paced like an anime that was edited for TV, it didn't need to be changed. The last time I had an anime leave this bad of a taste in my mouth was the first half of season 2 of Rising of Shield Hero, which I still need to finish and will probably read parts I didn't like. Even though it was rushed and disjointed it was still better than this one. I could at lest tell that the source likely had potential. They changed so much in this one that I didn't have much hope for the source but was somewhat relieved to find out it was practically a story from an alternate reality than this anime came from. To sum it up, I like trash, but this was way too bad even for me, so viewer beware. I recommend reading over watching if you have tastes or as low standards as myself. Studio Elle either needs to make major changes to how it's run or give up all together, because if they keep going like this, the next project will be awful as well. I do not have high hopes for "Party kara Tsuihou sareta Sono Chiyushi, Jitsu wa Saikyou ni Tsuki" as a result of this experience, but I will still check it out out of morbid curiosity.
actually, the concept where the main character is taken to another world for the second time is interesting in my opinion, but the writing of the story in this anime makes it look bad. I don't know what was on the mind of the author of this anime when writing this story. all the time I watched this anime, I was always made shy by myself and bored while watching it. so it took more than a week just to finish this anime because the story of this anime is so boring. plus the main character is very naive and cringe makes me very lazyto continue watching this anime.
