A fairly straightforward version of Little Women -- made in 1980, and the quality of the artwork and animation are standard for the time it was made. However, the biggest shortcoming of this version is that it is only an hour long. And it's not exactly easy to compress one of America's greatest literary classics of the 19th century from hundreds of pages down to a short-length movie. The whole thing seems rushed, and the story cut up, with some story elements getting the short-shrift. If you are familiar with the story in other formats, you willundoubtedly find this lacking. And if you are not, you will not find enough of the story and characters developed to really become invested. There was a longer, episodic version that was made later in the eighties, so that might be a better way to go.
