CARDFIGHT!! Vanguard 続・高校生編

Finished Airing
May 11, 2019 to Aug 10, 2019
Upon the conclusion of the Vanguard High School Koshien, Kouji Ibuki begins to have new nightmares. Nome Tatsunagi has Suiko summon him to the mansion where they learn he can see a Dark Tower called Sanctuary. Sanctuary is causing the timeline to be altered throughout history, and the only way to correct it is for Kouji to first correct his future mistake. Now Kouji and Suiko must travel the parallel world -if- and watch as Magical Girls Emi Sendou and Shuka summon Vanguard units to help correct history. Sadly the two can't help much as Cardfighting against real monsters doesn't do much good. (Source: ANN)

I'm just gonna be honest that the story is lackluster. The pacing is weird. They don't show full battles. I feel like that the full story in Vanguard is told by cardfights. The dialogues just lack appeal. At least this version of the story did Kourin some justice. The art is marvelously terrible. The whole series just seems meme quality. Especially Ibuki's expressions. Like I mean, the Opening and Ending seemed to have more budget than the whole show. RAS Opening gave this show rating a little boost. SFX stills stay consistent through the whole story. Voice Acting is the same as always. Well apartfrom Kai being kinda mellow and Morikawa being a good captain, the characters are still pretty much the same. Although Ibuki is swag as always. As I said, they didn't show full cardfights. That's the main charm of Vanguard. It tells the story by cardfighting. Overall, this is pretty bad.

This 14 episode long series is rather entertaining and if you enjoyed the first series you'll most likely enjoy this one. The plot is a little wobbly at times but overall it is fun to watch and it is good to see the characters from the previous series interact with one another just a few more times. When it comes to animation this series continues its unique style and very watchable visuals. I enjoyed it myself as a huge Cardfight anime genre fan, of course starting with Yu-Gi-Oh! and moving onto Vanguard. My only real issues with Vanguard is the lack of actual antagonists. Ireally wish there were more actual evil doers in the series instead of just being either nice people or barely evil. 8/10 for me.
We’ve been with these characters for four hundred and thirty six episodes. That’s way too many, especially as V Series was trying to correct the mistakes of the original. It is better than its predecessor season but it still backed itself into too many mistakes to be able to get out of. So maybe only getting one cour to wrap things up with wasn’t a brilliant idea. Ultimately, it’s another conclusion for characters who you’ve spent 8 years (worth of time if you’re a binge watcher) with and frankly, both they and us (as an audience) deserved better. Up next is an unnecessary prequel witha bizarre number of episodes.
First of all Cardfight !! Vanguard: Zoku Koukousei-hen tells the story after what happened in the first season but things change for 2 reasons if you have already seen the original series you will realize that only this anime serves to unite or change certain things and it would be a waste of time See it since it does not count the great thing and the second is that if you did not see the original series I recommend you to watch it because if they do not you may get a bad taste in your mouth for some things that are told differently here. Regardingthe characters they remain the same, only with some changes the good thing (in my opinion) was that they did not give so much importance to the fights "that they do not contribute anything" making it more clear that it only serves to fill the 24 minutes that lasts the chapter and therefore lengthening the series more as well as having few chapters did not have as much or no filling (which I thought I would have when I read the synopsis) Overall Cardfight !! Vanguard: Zoku Koukousei-hen for the few chapters it has was entertaining but not enough to want to see it again as it does not contribute anything remarkable and only sees that it is a poor or mediocre (however you want to see it) attempt to want to squeeze the anime with the intention of wanting to sell the game (cards), if you want to see it ahead but if you are a person who is looking for good stories and character development this is not for you
