I am only giving this a 1 out of 10 because of the wasted potential. This is a novel idea that could be expanded upon tremendously, yet shaft let it burn in hell for eternity after releasing it as an April fools joke. I am so upset with shaft right now words cannot describe it. My favorite rom-com and favorite anime series of all time in a crossover? It sounds like a dream come true. But no, shaft just wants to take my dream and stomp on it a million times, then throw it into and incinerator and take the ashes and crap all overthem and then open the gates of hell and throw the ashes down there, for them to be tortured by satan and thrown in endless flames forever. I am very disappointed in you shaft.
Such Idea should not be given as a joke... Honestly, I'm not planning to make a review on this April fools trailer and just type my short reaction (above) so I can look back at it and say "ha! this fool just waited 2 years trying to finish the monogatari series thinking he would watch a Nisekoi and Monogatari crossover anime!"... Yes I'm still in pain... but since in order to publish this review I need to make the text longer. Yes, you read that right! I was planning to finish the monogatari series, not to mention I also wanted to finish Naruto and One Piece, making me the greatest April fools joke ever! HA HA HA! So anyways, this is my first review on a anime and a not so serious review so you know.. stop wasting your time... Story: 7/10 I don't know what the story is since NO ONE KNOWS IT. Theoretically, a story base on two unique shows having a crossover, one's a supernatural and the other is a romcom story, can be risky. but if somehow done right, like the "Isekai Quartet", It could be engaging and fun to follow. Imagine Kirisaki-san getting dominated by Senjougahara-san (no hate, all best girl) or even a simple four heroin interacting with each other and/or each others lives. so w/o knowing... story, art, sound, ect. is rated on a review and now I'm doing the same format every reviewer does in this community. Art: 10/10 Look... I don't know who's art style both series is but I F-ING LOVE IT. From the Character Design, Background Design to the Camera Movements, Cinematic Shoot. Men! I don't even know what those things are called but they are all f*cking eye f*cking. sorry, I mean pleasing. Seriously though, the camera shoots or whatever the f*ck you call that is really genius. Having multiple views like a close up in the eyes while tilting their necks then go to a panty shot and then go to a wide shot then a panty shot then you get a flip shot of the hair and another panty shot, not to mention the black scene part then you go to you thought I was going to type a panty shot but it was me! Dio! Sound: 8/10 ClariS is ClariS... and if this really did happen. we might even have a ClariS x supercell. And then I could've rate the music 10/10. The voice actors should be great. the only problem in this trailer is a recycle use of music and IT'S A F*CKING APRIL FOOLS JOKE. Character: 10/10 Best girls, Childhood friends, Foreign classmates, and probably incest all in one show? Not to mention Clothes swaps and Onodera's blushes. Man! I'm speechless. Enjoyment: 8/10 While the Idea of this in existence is hard to put into words. It's fun that they release this trailer even as a joke and to watch both of the audiences and my soul gets tortured. It's like the release of One Punch season 2, everyone wanted it and waited for it then get disappointed, but nevertheless glad that it exist. Overall: Blue balls with your crush/10
"I love you, Araragi-kun. So much that I could embrace you without hesitation, even if you were entirely covered in feces." Nisekoimonogatari is a perfect example of wasted potential. As a fan of both the Nisekoi and Monogatari series, I would've loved to see the crazy hi-jinks between Chitoge and Senjougahara or maybe some fun outings with Araragi and Raku. Sadly, this was a fake promotional video uploaded as SHAFT's 40th anniversary April Fools' joke. I just wish SHAFT would come back and make this an actual series, as it would probably be one of my favorite crossover anime from the witty dialogue to theamazing visuals.
As far as I can tell, this plot is a role reversal for the characters - Chitoge swapping with Senjougahara and Onodera swapping with Hanekawa. The art is very simple as this was just an April Fools prank by the studio and as such, there is not much animation shown, but the way they stylised the character swap actually had a lot of small details to them, so it is clear that they had most likely planned this prank for several months. Even as a 1-minute fake trailer, I am very glad that they chose a song by ClariS as it keeps the theme of both ofthe series within that short amount of time. Chitoge Kirisaki - The female lead of Nisekoi. Hitaga Senjougahara - The main female in Bakemonogatari. Kosaki Onodera - A side-main character of Nisekoi. Tsubasa Hanekawa - A side-main character in Bakemonogatari.
It's basically an April Fool's Day prank trailer (and nothing more). The premise is somewhat curious: a supposed crossover between Nisekoi and Monogatari Series, two very different works in style, narrative, and tone. The idea itself has a certain initial appeal, especially for fans of both. However, it's clear from the beginning that it's all just a joke made exclusively for the date, without any real intention of development or continuity. The problem is that, even considering the context of it being an April Fool's joke, the content itself delivers almost nothing beyond the initial surprise. There's no depth, not enough creativity to sustain the concept, andnothing memorable to justify watching it more than once. It seems more like a quickly thrown-together idea than something truly designed to entertain or surprise the audience. Visually and conceptually, it could have better explored the contrast between the styles of the two works, creating unusual situations. But, in the end, everything remains very superficial, almost like a rough draft of something that could be much more interesting. I understand the intention to be light and playful, but even in this type of proposal, it's possible to deliver something more memorable or creative. Here, unfortunately, it only remains a fleeting curiosity. Overall, it's not worth the time invested, except for the momentary curiosity. I don't recommend it. Rating: 4/10. Nota: 4/10.
