Lord Marksman and Vanadis: Tigre and Vanadish

Well Tigre-kun to Vanadi-chu is a 14 episode series of shorts linking to the original Madan no Ou to Vanadis. I'm actually surprised to say that i enjoyed these shorts may more than the original series. It pretty much cuts out the battles and such which they go into wayyyyy too much detail over and just provides some simple yet funny comedy, in which often they break the fourth wall and acknowledge they are actually in an anime. You have to see the original to get the jokes and stuff but if you have then i'd definitely say you should watch this.

Another chibi-style special that, frankly, is completely disposable. I'm not particularly a fan of this style (this "super deformed" version of the characters) with its exaggerated focus on cute visuals and simpler humor, but I still decided to give it a chance, thinking it might have some creativity or something that stood out. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Overall, the work follows the most basic formula of this type of production: short episodes, silly situations, quick jokes, and an almost exclusive focus on caricaturing the characters. Everything is very shallow, without any concern for development, narrative, or even more elaborate humor. It's the kind of content clearlymade to be light and unpretentious, but which ends up falling flat because it offers nothing more than that. The biggest problem is that it doesn't even manage to excel within its own premise. There are chibi specials that, even simple ones, manage to elicit good laughs or bring creative interactions between the characters. Here, however, the jokes are predictable, the timing isn't the best, and many scenes simply pass by without leaving any impression. Furthermore, the repetition of gags and the constant use of the same types of humor quickly become tiresome. Instead of being fun and dynamic, it ends up seeming more like a collection of uninspired sketches that you watch almost automatically and forget soon after. In the end, it's completely dispensable content that adds nothing to the original work and doesn't stand on its own as standalone entertainment. It's only worthwhile for very dedicated fans who want to consume absolutely everything related to the franchise, and even then, with reservations. I don't recommend it. Já não sou particularmente fã desse estilo (essa versão “super deformed” dos personagens) com foco exagerado no visual fofinho e em humor mais simples mas ainda assim resolvi dar uma chance, pensando que talvez pudesse ter alguma criatividade ou algo que se destacasse. No geral, a obra segue exatamente a fórmula mais básica desse tipo de produção: episódios curtos, situações bobas, piadas rápidas e um foco quase exclusivo em caricaturar os personagens. Tudo é muito raso, sem qualquer preocupação com desenvolvimento, narrativa ou até mesmo um humor mais elaborado. É aquele tipo de conteúdo feito claramente para ser leve e descompromissado, mas que acaba caindo no vazio por não oferecer nada além disso. O maior problema é que nem dentro da proposta ele consegue se sobressair. Existem especiais chibi que, mesmo simples, conseguem arrancar boas risadas ou trazer interações criativas entre os personagens. Aqui, porém, as piadas são previsíveis, o timing não é dos melhores e muitas cenas simplesmente passam sem deixar qualquer impressão. Além disso, a repetição de gags e o uso constante dos mesmos tipos de humor tornam tudo rapidamente cansativo. Em vez de ser algo divertido e dinâmico, acaba parecendo mais um conjunto de esquetes sem inspiração, que você assiste quase no automático e esquece logo depois. No fim das contas, é um conteúdo completamente dispensável, que não acrescenta nada à obra original e nem se sustenta como entretenimento isolado. Só vale a pena para fãs muito dedicados que queiram consumir absolutamente tudo relacionado à franquia, e mesmo assim, com ressalvas. Não recomendo. Nota: 4/10.
