Set on the planet Yietta, whose colonists make their living by exploiting the planet's unique liquid-gas oceans, Plastic Little begins as the Yietans are finally about to pay off their debts to the Galactic Federation. Unfortunately, there are those who would rather not let Yietta slip through their fingers... Enter Tita, 17 year old captain of the Cha Cha Maru. Together with her crew, Tita specializes in capturing Yietta's exotic life forms for intergalactic pet shops, but through plain bad luck she finds herself, instead, at the core of a sinister plot to take over Yietta! By rescuing 16 year old Elysse from the very clutches of the military, Tita puts the lives of both herself and her crew in mortal peril... but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do! As the plotters mobilize their forces in a desperate bid to retrieve Elysse, whom they believe possesses a vital computer code, Tita must play a dangerous game of tag with an entire army of professional killers! It's Cat and Mouse on a planetwide scale, with one crucial difference: Mice don't shoot back, but Tita's does! (Source: AnimeNfo)

This is an absolute classic. The premise is fairly interesting - some girl, Tita, is the captain of a spaceship which collects rare animals. Nice idea, which turns out not to be the focus of the OAV at all. Tita saves a girl who just happens to be being hunted by some evil guys. The chase begins! But that doesn't matter, because the real charm and brilliance of this anime doesn't lie in the dodgy story, bad music or waifs of character personalities. It's in the most beautiful and stunningly designed breasts in anime. That's right; the reason I've watched this dozens of times in the lastdozen or so years is the awesome tits. Satoshi Urushihara is the king of drawing truly beautiful female characters. Not just the boobs, the whole character is stunning, and invariably beautifully coloured. His manga and limited anime is peppered with such beautiful women. If you thought there was no such thing as hentai without rape and general mysogeny then check out his Another Lady Innocent anime or Nostalgic Heroines artbook. But this is far from hentai, it's just eye-candy, and I love it. Even Jonathon Ross has admitted his love from this one!
Ever since MST3K became a hit in the 1990s, it has been well known that many people (including myself) love to laugh at bad movies. However, it is difficult to describe exactly what makes a movie enjoyably bad vs. irritatingly bad. I believe that bad + boring + pretentious = irritatingly bad. Whereas sheer ineptitude creates the unintentional comedies that people love. Plastic Little is a movie so stupid you can't help but laugh at it. Even the title makes ZERO sense. The writer simply took two random English words and stuck them together! This 1994 movie was one of the first anime titles licensedin the US by ADV before they got HUGE after licensing Evangelion. As a result, almost the entire English cast of Eva also worked on this monstrosity, which brings extra comedy to English speaking audiences. This was one of the first purely shameless "echii" titles to be brought over to the states. The fanservice was so much more frequent than what American otaku were used to seeing in the early 1990s, that ADV actually added a "jiggle counter" at the bottom of the screen. Seriously! The story is an absolute mess of plot holes, deus ex machina bullshit, and of course NOTHING is explained about the background of this world or the society in which the characters live. The characters are stale and poorly developed, although that is to be expected for a 45 minute long borderline hentai. However, it is the instances of WTFuckery and head bashing idiocy that really makes this title shine! The story takes place on an alien planet during what I can only assume is the distant future. Of course, as I already stated the world of this anime and the background is almost entirely left unexplained. Our heroine is Tita, who lives on a planet populated by Russian people, along with one black Frenchman, who is simply there....because why not? Tita is only 17, but is the captain of a ship that captures large and exotic alien species to sell to space zoos and wealthy pet collectors. One day Tita sees a pretty girl being attacked by the goons of the evil Galactic Empire. Apparently the Galaxy is being terrorized by a poorly drawn Darth Vader ripoff resembling Darth Helmet from Space Balls, who is the most feared officer of the oppressive empire. He wants this hot blonde chick because...reasons. Tita saves the blonde chick using her Akira style ripoff motorcycle and after escaping inexplicably from a massive explosion, they spend the next 15 minutes bathing and feeling each other's tits, back on the bath house of Tita's ship. You will notice that this bath house is so huge that it logically wouldn't even be able to fit inside the ship unless they have some sort of dimension warping technology. Plastic Little has HEAVY Yuri (lesbian)i overtones, but never quite becomes a full fledged hentai. This is a rarity for the film's director Mr. Urushihara, who normally just draws porn for a living. Soon, blonde chick and Tita must confront Darth Helmet and infiltrate his base with some REALLY stupid action scenes. Darth Helmet tried tries to choke Tita to death while she is CLEARLY holding a gun, then is somehow surprised when she simply shoots him in the face and kills him! Tita and blonde chick then escape and Plastic Little achieves its crowning moment of sublime stupidity! The entire Imperial fleet is on their ass, and Tita's animal capture ship which the characters stated MULTIPLE times had no real combat capabilities, wipes out the entire Imperial fleet with ONE SHOT of the "galaxy buster cannon". Why the fuck not? The movie then ends with some comic relief involving the ship's crusty old first mate named Mikhail. MASTERPIECE! Overall 4/10 As unbelievably idiotic as this movie is, at least it is enjoyably stupid as opposed to being boring and stupid. The primary goal is to show as many tits as possible and it certainly achieved that goal. The series is well drawn, decently animated, has an OK soundtrack, and was pretty technically impressive for its time. The voice acting is awful including Tiffany Grant as blonde chick doing what may be the worst English accent ever, but that only adds to the comedy. If you want to have a laugh at the expense of an old, bad anime then Plastic Little is that anime!
I had never heard of this title before, I downloaded it, but when I saw the actual name, (and noticed it was an 1 episode OVA), I thought it would be a hentai. But it isn't, although there's nudity in it (top only). The art is pretty normal, looks like the old basic art anime had at that time, although the animation involving the nudity was like it should be in reality, (looked smoother tho'), they did a better job on it then most of the good hentai's do, that was kinda ironic, bu...t yet funny. The story is cool too, yet, old. Our heroïn helps astranger and brings her to her base (She's a pet hunter). And the enemy's who are after the one that was in trouble find out the base/hiding place and come to get her, after almost dying, they decide to actually take it up against the (corrupt) military force, and all her comrades help. Basic neh? The sound's really good for that time, everything sounds realistic, the characters are cool too, we got a (little bit) thickheaded heroïn, who doesn't know when to quit, an old companion, a dead father (who's became a legacy in the pet hunter world), the one who's in love with the lead character, the pervert, the person who we doubt (if he will stay on the good side), and the person in need of rescue. Other characters are basic too, an evil guy who has an army under his control, he wears a suit which makes him all-powerful, he's sick in his mind too, and the look-a-like henchmen of his. It's enjoyable, it doesn't take long, that's too bad, they could've at least made several episodes, but the way they put it together in just one episode is really cool too, we get fast introductions and flashbacks, which doesn't bother cause it happened good and all the event happen fast, but again in a good way.
"Plastic Little" (or, to give it its full title "Plastic Little: The Adventures of Captain Tita",) is an action anime that manages to fall short of mediocrity despite having a pretty good opening. Filled with fan service and a half-arsed plot, it turned out to be a very dull affair. My concentration wandered so many times during this boring anime, that I totally lost track of what was going on. And you know what? I don't really care - this turned out to be a complete waste of my time... good job it only wasted 45 minutes of it. In this truly unsatisfying OVA, nothing reallystood out. The comedy is forgettable - I can't even remember a single joke they attempted. In fact I can barely remember whether it's meant to be comedy or not, but since it's got "Comedy" down as one of its genre labels, I guess it must be... or at least it tried to be. I'm not usually one to complain about lack of originality, but the story and characters are so unoriginal and one dimensional that they totally bore me. The story is your typical bad guys who want to destroy the world (they didn't bother explaining why) set up, with a most unlikely group of "pet shop hunters" (ok I guess there might be some originality in this after all) armed with state of the art equipment out to stop them. Incredibly, the story has a few holes in it even though there's barely enough material to support the existence of holes. It also somehow manages to be badly explained even though there's barely anything to explain. In particular, what happened towards the end the show is a bit of a puzzle to me... but I didn't really care enough to try and puzzle it out - I was just relieved that this borefest was finally coming to an end! The characterisations are plain lazy - it doesn't feel like the creators put too much effort into them. A few common, cheap tricks are applied here and there to try and make them seem more interesting, but it totally failed, as they didn't interest me in the slightest. If you're looking for action, there are far better anime out there than this extraordinarily dull show. At the end of the day, the most interesting thing about "Plastic Little" is its title... and the amusing name "Captain Tita" - it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this is an ecchi. And why is this called "Plastic Little" anyway??
In forty-eight minutes Plastic Little manages to create a confusing world. I can’t tell whether it was made to be a sci-fi action adventure or a full on hentai. Not enough tits for hentai and not enough story for action adventure…so what does that make it? Despite the fact the story is weak, the characters are underdeveloped and uninteresting, and there is a jiggle counter on the DVD, it does manage to have fantastic animation for the time. Our two heroines are downright adorable and anything the anime does lack it makes up for in perfectly drawn breasts and very cute girls. Otherwise, the villainlooks ridiculous, the plot is barely there, the action is uninteresting, and the only thing you’ll remember about this show, sadly, is the bathhouse scene and perhaps the yuri subtext.
