Anime Special Review No.7 Just recently finished the blue ray of Unbreakable Machine Dolls so I decided to continue watching the specials. What can you expect for this special that is only limited from the Blue Ray release? Going to leak some teasers to you guys on what will you encounter once you started to watch the 6 short episodes. From my perspective the 1st episode of the special is just fine. It introduced the main characters while they are travelling to London. This is episode is quite nice for giving a short background check about our main characters which the 1st episode of the main seriesdidn’t bother to reveal for us to like them more. The Episode 2, 4, 5 is a short fan service episode but you might feel the highschool DXD fan service here since the episode is indeed from the blue ray release. Are you curious what are in the middle of the summit? Episode 3 is a flash back of our protagonist past but I concur this episode is the best among the other 5 episode if you like some touching moments. Lastly the last episode is the sum of all the episodes that ends to a meh conclusion. It’s an episode presenting half fan service and half feels service. The special lack the action elements which the only thing I liked about the anime but it does did a great job for being a extra in the DVD. The extra of UMD is better than the Black bullets blue ray extra. And that's my personal opinion.

Pretty much your usual fanservice specials but I was taken by surprise it how they built the "unseen foreshadowing" to its last episode! First time I actually seen specials with a plotline. It is short so it is really easy to see, and it actually manages to invokes bits of emotions with special 6, so if you enjoyed the series, you may as well see this. Gotta be said, I have seen the anime awhile ago, and this just made me relieve some feelings, like the MC's sister being dead... it really made me want to see more of the story progressing, but it would bean miracle if that were to happen.
The specials for Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai end up being just as unmemorable as the main series itself (perhaps even more so). As I mentioned when discussing the original anime, this is a work that simply doesn't convince me. The premise has a concept that could yield something interesting, mixing action with fantasy and mechanical elements, but the execution is far from engaging. And, unfortunately, these specials do absolutely nothing to improve that impression. One of the points that bothers me the most remains present here: the romantic dynamic. There's an attempt to create emotional tension between characters, but the way it's handled feels strange and uncomfortable, especiallyconsidering the design and characterization of one of the female characters, which evokes a childlike appearance. Instead of being captivating, it ends up causing strangeness and further harming the experience. Visually, the specials don't help either. The animation maintains that excessively "clean" aspect, with very light colors and a noticeable lack of contrast. It seems like there's a lack of weight in the lines, more defined shadows, or some kind of artistic direction that gives more identity to the scenes. The result is an aesthetic that feels somewhat empty, lacking impact, as if everything is unfinished or unpolished. As for the content itself, the special episodes are completely forgettable. The situations presented add nothing relevant to the characters or the universe of the work. They are short stories that pass quickly, but leave no impression whatsoever, neither in terms of humor, nor development, nor creativity. They serve only as a dispensable complement that reinforces how generic the whole thing is. In the end, these specials don't justify the time invested. They don't expand the story, don't deepen the characters, and don't deliver enough entertainment to stand on their own. They only repeat the same problems of the main series in an even more superficial format. I don't recommend it. Rating: 4/10. Nota: 4/10.
